Reinventing the Unix shell
A recent insight: the Unix shell and its commands were designed for a semi-interactive textual interface, where the principal file format was plain text. You ran commands and got output.
What is needed is a persistent graphical interface that works on structured types. Oops, Smalltalk. Maybe I should investigate it further...
